The Different Homemade Hand Scrubs

An important part of a skin care routine is exfoliating because it leads to the removal of dead skin cells, eventually resulting in supple and radiating skin. There are lots of people out there who seem to forget that their hands need just as much care and attention as the rest of their body. In order to accomplish this goal, it is easy for people to find hand scrubs in the market, but the problem is that they have preservatives and additives in them that may prove to be harmful to the skin in the long term. Organic or homemade hand scrubs are a better choice in this regard because they are made of natural materials that you can easily find in your kitchen. They don’t contain any chemicals that might irritate the skin.

You can keep the skin of your hands healthy as long as you apply a homemade hand scrub at least once on a weekly basis. Here are some of the organic scrubs that you can make at home for your hands:

Sea Salt Scrub

Take a bowl and combine 1 cup of olive oil, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of ground ginger and 1 cup of sea salt in it. The ingredients should be stirred together until they have combined properly. Make sure that the skin of your hands is damp when you are rubbing the scrub on them and then rinse it off with water.

Brown Sugar Scrub

Take a bowl and add ½ cup of salt and ½ cup of brown sugar in it. Now add one tablespoon of honey, one tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in it. The ingredients should be mixed properly. The scrub should then be applied onto the skin. You can rinse it of with water when you want to remove it.

Oatmeal Scrub

Take a bowl and pour ¼ cup of water in it. Then put in 2 tablespoon of oatmeal into it until the oats are softened. Now you can add about ½ teaspoon of olive oil and 1 ½ teaspoon of lemon juice to the oatmeal as well. The ingredients should be mixed well together with the help of stirring. Then you can rub this scrub onto your hands. Rinse off the scrub by using cold water after leaving it applied for at least 2 minutes in order for it to be effective.

After a hand scrub is used, one should not forget to apply moisturizer on the hands for restoring the moisture that has been lost to the skin. As long as people remember to use a hand scrub once in a week, they will be able to keep their hands supple, healthy and youthful at the same time. With organic and homemade scrubs, people don’t have to spend large sums of money to purchase any ingredients. These scrubs are highly beneficial and people don’t have to buy any readymade scrubs either, which are very expensive and are not as effective as organic ones.
