How to Experience Greater Achievements with Self-Motivation

According to Adidas’ slogan, “Impossible is nothing”. Nothing is indeed impossible to attain, experience or achieve when you are determined enough to do it. The thing with folks who do not achieve much is not a lack of capacity nor a lack of opportunity but often times it is a lack of motivation.

Zig Ziglar famously said: People often say motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing- that’s why we recommend it daily. How true that is, you have to wake up every day with the right mindset to achieve and ram through the hurdles that may await you and capitalize on the opportunities that are before you. To do this, you cannot rely on just motivation from others to keep you going because everyone has their own little battles to fight and probably even need more motivation than you do.

Moreover, we live in a world today where everyone tends to notice and amplify your failures more than your success. Many folks chide away at criticisms and choose to remain in their shells rather than go out, ram through the wall and achieve stuff. Here are ways to experience greater achievement with self-motivation; they are called the “three M’s of achieving more with self-motivation”.

Meditation

You may probably underestimate the importance of meditation but I can assure you that this is one of the tools of highly self-motivated people. It is Katherine Durham who made one of my favorite quotes when she said; “Go within every day and find the inner strength so that the world will not blow your candle out”. Every day brings with it a new challenge but achievers are folks who have mastered the art of looking inward to draw from the deep wells of inspiration within. Everyone is equipped with the solutions to their challenges only if they will look within. Sometimes you may need the help of others but it first takes an inward search to know what you need in the first place.

Motivational books

Develop a habit of reading motivational books. They fill you with positive thoughts that are vital to tackle thoughts of failure and negativity. Motivational books can be your best friend for life. They will fuel your passion and add that extra spring to your steps. Reading a motivational book will make you see positives in everything. There are so many good authors out there whose books will help you set out the right tone for your life, they include but not limited to Zig Ziglar, Napoleon Hill, Norman Vincent Peale, Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Jim Rohn etc.

Mastery

Strive for mastery every day in everything that makes you the person you are. What do you do at your job? Take a note and write out your job description at the office, list out your talents and unique qualities. Make a mental note as well and on another note, list out what you can do and achieve to be the best at all the things listed out. Nothing motivates you better daily than the pursuit of mastery of all your endeavors.
