5 Blinding Signs You Need Corrective Lenses

0

Many people think that poor eyesight only happens in those who are older. So even though they are having vision problems, they don’t realize it. But the longer that someone waits to get to an optometrist, the more damage that is done to their eyes. That is why it is important to know the following five signs that you need corrective lenses.

Poor Night Vision

Humans naturally don’t have the best night vision because we are more active during the daytime, and we sleep at night. We also have a different amount of rods and cones than animals that are better adapted to hunting after the sun sets. But if you start to have more trouble than usual seeing to drive or find things at night, it could be a sign of underlying eye problems.

Sitting too Close to the Screen

Those who are farsighted can’t see things far away. So they tend to sit closer to the computer or television screen when they do work or watch movies. They also hold books or small objects up higher to their eyes. So if you notice yourself doing this, get your eyes checked. Be sure to let the optometrist know how close you are having to sit by the screen too.

Squinting

In an attempt to clarify fuzzy images, we all squint our eyes. It does little to help us see though. But if it seems that you are squinting all the time, you could have vision problems that are making objects look distorted.

Tripping over Small Things

Not seeing small objects in the floor can make someone trip and fall a lot. They might also bump into walls or furniture. This is usually a case of farsightedness.

Headaches

If you tend to get headaches whenever you read or do work up close, it means your eyes are strained. And the only thing that will help is to go see an optometrist like those at Eye Society Pty Ltd. Glasses or contacts will help correct the vision problems, so your eyes don’t have to work so hard.

This is only a short list of symptoms that people can get when they need corrective lenses for their eyes. If you have any other signs of distorted vision, make an appointment to get your eyes checked right away. Sometimes, there are other underlying health problems to blame, so never ignore symptoms like nausea, vomiting, constant headaches, or falling a lot.
