Are you using organic and pure CBD Oil – How to find out?
Are you using organic and pure CBD Oil
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a potent natural compound that comes from marijuana. Canada has finally decriminalized the possession and use of medical marijuana. Such a step is critical in improving the healthcare of a state and a country. Several states of the USA have also decriminalized the possession and consumption of medical marijuana. Carrying ganja in its traditional consumable form is controversial, and it requires several permits cum licenses at all times. Additionally, real plant parts do not have the concentrated forms of CBD necessary for its anti-inflammatory properties.
As a result, people are starting to prefer edible and topical oils, tinctures and balms. Here, the CBD component is a plant derivative, and it goes through several rounds of purification before ending up in consumables. There is the chance that certain manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies do not use organic hemp oil for the extraction of cannabidiol. It is possible for them to mass produce CBD in the laboratories for making edible oils for their customers. The only way to avoid this is by checking if your brand uses pure organic CBD oil in their preparations only.
How is organic hemp different from traditional ones?
Organic farming is the practice du jour. It has stringent rules that include the use of purely plant-based compost. The farmers use no chemical fertilizers and pesticides during the cultivation of strictly organic herbs. It is never easy to stay all-organic, but that is precisely what honest and good cannabis farmers do. In the US, farmers have to stick to a very stringent set of rules set by the Department of Agriculture that decides everything from the quality of soil to the final purification of the product.
One of the most important aspects of organic farming is the use of traditional seeds. While, hybrid seeds are a part of conventional agriculture where farmers combine multiple plants and select the seeds that perform the best in certain conditions, genetically modified plants are NEVER organic. GMPs are products of genetic engineering that may include genes from other plants and even bacteria to induce certain characters like a boost in the CBD levels.
How to check if your CBD oil is organic?
If your CBD oil manufacturer is reputed, you can check the label of the product for ensuring that the product is organic. The label should say a few things like –
- 100% organic
- Non-GMP or non-GMO
- The USDA organic seal
- The list of non-organic ingredients like salt and water (5% permissible limit)
- Information of the Certifying agent on the panel
Is your organic CBD product pure?
The next thing you must remember is that all products that are 100% organic may not be 100% pure. Your cannabis oil might have tints of peppermint, eucalyptus or vanilla, depending on the brand. These flavors indicate that the oil is fit for consumption. In most cases, these aromas mask the strong earthy tone of the natural hemp oil, and they have nothing to do with the organic nature of it. However, if your salve, tincture or oil has any of these essential oils, the manufacturer must include it on the label.
